Shotgun bio! I’m currently the principal data scientist at RESTORE, where we’re building a new EMR platform for physical, occupational, and speech therapists. Growing up, I maintained a small zoo of 275 animals ranging from pythons and cockatiels to flying squirrels and foxes. After the zoo disbanded, I attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where I earned my bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and math. I stumbled into the data space through a series of happy accidents. In prior roles I’ve worked as a data analyst and a data engineer. I have a lot of interests including, but not limited to, representation learning, simulation studies, and programming language interoperability. My favorite past time is showing that something that can’t be done with R, in fact, can be done with R; it’s a kind of hold-my-beer-driven development. Outside of the data space, I’m a member of the sketch comedy group Kidney+. I live in Cleveland, OH with my amazing partner, Emily, and my two pythons, Rorty and Sweettooth.
